Dubai International Airport Expansion (Phase Two)
Concourse 3 is an extension, yet an integral part of the ongoing development of Concourses 1 and 2 at Dubai International Airport. Partly underground structure, including Automated People Moving (APM) stations for arrivals and departures, the concourse extends above ground under a metal shell and has space for 20 aircraft stands – 18 of which are designed for the Airbus 380 – and waiting rooms for six other aircraft at remote stands.
Similar to Concourse 2, the building envelope of Concourse 3 shares the same size and shape characteristics. With a floor area of 90 x 645 m on a constructed area of approx. 528,000 m², the building includes Emirates Airline's lounges and hotels as well as the arrivals and departures areas with a duty-free area.
Approximately 1 million m³ of reinforced concrete was poured over a period of two years for this order. It is the largest single contract in Dubai to date to be carried out by AA Construction Group, employing 7,500 people.
